This Barefoot Bridal Brunch was a collaboration of myself and 2 other very talented friends; Spring Sweet from “Spring Sweet” and Melissa Hoogeland from “MJ Photography”.  Thank you gals for helping me make this happen!!

As usual, with our busy schedules, we ended up working the entire day before to prepare for the photo shoot. (Even though we had planned it for over a month.) Thats how it always seems to go. Plan…plan…plan…GOOOOO!

The theme of this Bridal Brunch was RUSTIC ELEGANCE. I wanted the look to be romantic and “Enchanted Aprilish” (See my earlier post of “Celebrating Spring”.  I knew Spring’s design touch would fit perfectly with this casual theme. I also wanted to bring a touch of elegance & class. The results were beautiful!

Lace & a whitewashed barn. I love how Spring threw a vintage lace table cloth onto the side of the barn…so romantic!!

China & a wooden crate. I love the juxtaposition of these items…elegant & rustic.

The flowers added a romantic touch to both the brunch buffet table and the dining table. Thank you Spring for putting your creative touch to this photo shoot.

Melissa and I spent a couple of weeks scouting for the perfect location. Melissa found this white washed barn and yard which ended up being perfect!

The menu was fun to plan. I thought; “what would 5 women & 2 girls love to eat…” Strawberry Tarts, Olive Oil Pound Cake with Orange Zest, Rustic Asparagus Quiche, and, Homemade Granola with Yogurt and Honey. The menu was a great success and beautiful!

Strawberry Tart

This Strawberry Tart is so easy! I used my buttery, crunchy shortbread recipe for the crust. Whole strawberries, strawberry jam, coconut rum and lime zest makes a perfect filling. Topped with freshly whipped cream. This is a perfect recipe for any celebration!!

I added vanilla bean to the greek yogurt which is very thick & dense. Topped it with honey and fresh raspberries. So fresh…it was a perfect compliment to the homemade granola.

The strawberry tarts were made with my homemade strawberry jam and fresh strawberries topped with a dollop of whipped cream…a beautiful and tasty addition to the Bridal Brunch Buffet.

My Rustic Asparagus Tart was my favorite! I used sliced ham and gruyere cheese but you could also use pancetta and swiss if you prefer. The Demarle at Home “Herb de Provence” spices were a perfect addition to this quiche. The puff pastry made it very easy and the reduced balsamic vinegar gave it a perfect sweet/tart finish.

Olive Oil Pound Cake Muffins with Orange Zest, topped with Strawberry Jam were delightful! I know this wasn’t a well balance menu but it was beautiful & so tasty!

After the gals ate they enjoyed a relaxing time opening presents. What a beautiful setting! This picture reminds me so much of the Enchanted April Picnic I have on my “Celebrating Spring” post. Beautiful!

The presents were all wrapped in craft wrapping paper, cheesecloth & ribbon. Don’t you love the look? So fitting with the rustic elegance theme. The wrapping paper, cheesecloth and lace were all from Hobby Lobby.

Spring Sweet made adorable clutches for the bridesmaids. (you can find them at her store; Spring Sweet)

And for the parting gifts the gals were presented with my homemade Strawberry Jam with Coconut Rum & Lime Zest, and Spring Sweet flowers; single stems in a vase.

The Barefoot Bridal Brunch was a beautiful celebration! Because we made this event so casual, I think it is an easy one to duplicate. The purpose of the barn is to show people that you can turn any space into a great venue by adding some vintage touches like lace, wooden crates & fresh flowers.

Layering the buffet table with different heights of cake pedestals gave movement to the table. Use as many things from home as you can to cut down on the cost; crates, cake pedestals, chalkboards, white linens, doilies, flowers from your garden, little glass containers.

I hope you liked this celebration and that you create your own “rustic elegance” bridal brunch. If you do, please let me know and share your pictures with me. I would love to post them on my blog.

Thank you again Spring and Melissa for your help in making this celebration a beautiful success!
